Why use Aromatherapy? Well, the simple answer is because it works! Well you may ask “How do essential oils work?”
Aromatherapy is often referred to as Essential Oil therapy. It is defined as the art and science of utilizing naturally extracted aromatic essences from plants to balance, harmonize and promote the health of body, mind and spirit. Essential oils ares liquids that are distilled from the leaves, stems, flowers, bark, roots, resins or other elements of plants and trees. These essential oils are the life force of a plant and are highly concentrated so only a few drops are generally needed. When working with essential oils the most common ways to use them are aromatically and topically, meaning inhaling the oils directly out of a bottle or via a diffuser or applied to the skin (diluted through a carrier oil) and in skin care products.
